Change: A Blessing or a Curse? – November 26, 2017

At the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles, you will hear relevant messages, by Rev. Pam MacGregor, that you can apply to everyday life.

Joyous Thanksgiving wishes to you and your dear ones! May your celebrations uplift your hearts, enliven your spirits, and delight your taste buds.

I’m so looking forward to sharing this special month with you. And I want to begin by letting each and every one of you know how grateful I am for your presence in my life, and in this spiritual community. That we are sharing this time on the planet together is a blessing, because as like-minded students of Truth, we are able to encourage one another, remind one another of who we are and why we are here, and of the unconditional love that underpins our existence. I hope you will join me each week this month when our theme will be, “Living from the Overflow.”

The topic on November 26, 2017, was Change: A Blessing or a Curse? If there’s one single given we can rely on throughout life, it’s that the only thing that is changeless is change itself. If it were not so, how could we transform our lives and our circumstances? Of course there are changes we consciously seek and are grateful for, but what about those inconvenient, annoying things that life seems to rudely impose upon us—can we not see that even the seemingly negative is simply positivity in a disguise to wake us up?

Tapping into Your Infinite Nature – November 12, 2017

The topic on November 12, 2017, was Tapping into Your Infinite Nature. Our first step in tapping into our infinite nature as individualized expressions of Spirit is to drop the tendency to mentally measure our worth by outer appearances. By neutralizing this mindset through our spiritual practices of meditation and affirmative prayer, we open ourselves to receiving the revelation of our infinite nature. It is in that sacred, luminous temple within that we can gaze into the cosmic mirror and see reflected there our original face as a spirit-soul.

You Are a Blessing – November 5, 2017

The topic on November 5, 2017, was You Are a Blessing. That each of us has been equipped with the capacity to become an enlightened being provides sufficient evidence that we are a blessing unto ourselves. That we have been endowed with a heart capable of expressing unconditional love is our blessing to all those who cross our path. And our heart’s innate compassion is a blessing to all existence. So the question becomes, having been given such a birthright from Spirit, how can we best cultivate and activate it in our everyday lives?

When Love Finds You, Be Willing to Be Found – October 29, 2017

At the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles, you will hear relevant messages, by Rev. Pam MacGregor, that you can apply to everyday life.

Loving greetings and welcome to one of my favorite months of the year and it’s theme, Share the Love, Share the Light, Share the Wealth. It’s Friendship Month, and what a joy it is to gather with a community of spiritual friends who inspire, encourage and support one another on the path. The Buddha considered the sangha—the Sanskrit word for spiritual community—to be one of the Three Jewels of spiritual practice. How blessed we are to gather together each week to pray, learn, and celebrate. May this blessing fill your hearts as deeply as it does my own.

The topic on October 29, 2017, was When Love Finds You, Be Willing to Be Found. It was former President Obama who wisely said, “In the fleeting time we have on this earth, what matters is not wealth or status or power or fame, but rather how well we have loved.” This willingness to love is part of a circuit of completion, which includes our willingness to be loved. This Law of Love is a reflection of our relationship with Spirit itself: A conscious union of loving and being loved that is precious, sacred and eternal.

The topic on October 22, 2017, was Unconditional Friendship. We sometimes think that true friends don’t or shouldn’t encounter bumpy times on the road of friendship, that they don’t express criticism, don’t offer opinions unless asked. But where is the growth in that? Unconditional friendship is about walking together through challenges, offering forgiveness on its path for the missteps intentionally or unintentionally made. It’s about healing and transforming together.

It hasn’t been all that long ago that scientific studies proved the interconnectivity among our human family, while for millenniums we have been taught through spiritual teachings that there is no separation between souls, even while occupying different dimensions of living. How blessed we are that as we walk through this world we can turn to a friend and wholeheartedly say, “Thank you for being my friend.”

The touch of friendship in its physical, emotional, and spiritual expressions is Spirit’s love, compassion, and grace made tangible in our lives. Wise are those who call upon those qualities during times of challenges with friends, as they allow us to practice deep listening, forgiving, and loving—both of our friends and ourselves. Such a holy relationship is a powerful mirror, reflecting back to us our evolutionary progress.

The Fourth Secret of Answered Prayer – September 24, 2017

At the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles, you will hear relevant messages, by Rev. Pam MacGregor, that you can apply to everyday life.

I’m quite sure that, like myself, you’ve directed an abundance of prayerful energy into Laws governing the universe! This month I’ve had some extra assistance from a book I read—The Prayer Chest, a novel co-authored by New Thought ministers August Gold and Joel Fotinos. I became inspired to base this month’s theme—The Secrets of Answered Prayer—upon their book, because I found it so supportive in deepening my prayer practice.

Now of course those of us who have read the Science of Mind textbook by Dr. Ernest Holmes are familiar with the principles underlying spiritual mind treatment, and sometimes we may lose sight of some of the subtleties involved in answered prayer. So I offer you this month’s weekly topics as a means of rejuvenating and accelerating our spiritual practice of scientific, affirmative prayer.

The topic on September 24, 2017, was The Fourth Secret of Answered Prayer. Interestingly, The Prayer Chest authors leave the fourth secret wide open to the vast ocean of possibilities. What arose in my own consciousness is the clue offered in the fifth step of Spiritual Mind Treatment: Release. Specifically, releasing our attachment to the outcome of our prayer, including the “how” and “when” of it. Once again, I remind us of the words of Ernest Holmes, “Pray right and God cannot help responding.”
