How Receptive Are You to Spirit? – July 14, 2019

Loving greetings and may your lives glow with the luminous light of Spirit as we celebrate the fourth of July and all the inner and outer freedoms with which we have been blessed. Perhaps greatest among them is our right to religious freedom, to follow that path to which our soul is called. We in Science of Mind celebrate that freedom every time we enter the field of prayer, the field of our everyday activities wherein we know the Spirit moves, breathes, and expresses Its life through and as us. Our theme of the month is “At Home with Spirit.”

The topic on July 14, 2019, was How Receptive Are You to Spirit? Knowing that each one of us is inseparably One with Spirit, have you ever paused to consider if you are as receptive to Spirit as Spirit is to you? What grace that Spirit is unconditionally, fully present in each moment of our eternal relationship. On this Sunday we will ask and answer the key question: how can we expand and sustain our receptivity to Spirit’s presence, guidance, and boundless giving?

Think About Your Thinking – July 7, 2019

Loving greetings and may your lives glow with the luminous light of Spirit as we celebrate the fourth of July and all the inner and outer freedoms with which we have been blessed. Perhaps greatest among them is our right to religious freedom, to follow that path to which our soul is called. We in Science of Mind celebrate that freedom every time we enter the field of prayer, the field of our everyday activities wherein we know the Spirit moves, breathes, and expresses Its life through and as us. Our theme of the month is “At Home with Spirit.”

The topic on July 7, 2019, was Think About Your Thinking. In his 1903 classic As a Man Thinketh, James Allen writes, “A man is literally what he thinks. His character is the complete sum of all his thoughts.” He further clarifies that this applies equally to thoughts which are “spontaneous” and “unpredictable” as to those which are deliberate. This week, in an honest, open-minded approach, we will explore the depths of thinking, thoughts, and the thinker. I think you’ll like it!

You: A One-of-a-Kind Expression of Spirit – June 30, 2019

Isn’t it interesting how, when something is marketed as “one-of-a-kind,” its value rises? And yet, when we are reminded that each of us is a one-of-a-kind expression of Spirit, our individual market value can remain, well, rather flat? The truth is, we oftentimes lack the faith or trust in ourselves as the unique, individualized reflection of Spirit that we are. And that’s why our theme for the month of June is “Planting Seeds of Faith.” And it doesn’t stop there, because together we will learn how we may nurture and blossom those seeds, just as the Master Gardner intended when It implanted them within us.

The topic on June 30, 2019, was You: A One-of-a-Kind Expression of Spirit. Do you wonder how many times you’ll have to hear over and over again that “You are a perfect, whole and complete expression in the Mind of God”—before this absolute truth about you is never again placed before the tribunal of your consciousness? Today we will explore why and how you can walk hand-in-hand in harmonious friendship with your spiritual and human nature.

Spirit as Father: The Love that Never Lets Go – June 16, 2019

Isn’t it interesting how, when something is marketed as “one-of-a-kind,” its value rises? And yet, when we are reminded that each of us is a one-of-a-kind expression of Spirit, our individual market value can remain, well, rather flat? The topic on June 16, 2019, was Spirit as Father: The Love that Never Lets Go. Male and female metaphors for Spirit are not incompatible. As the parable of the Prodigal Son and the child within us all knows, Spirit as the “father” also is tender, compassionate, protective, never gives up on us or lets go of us. Our part is to meet the Father nature within that so loves us that it became us and empowered us with its qualities of wisdom, faith, confidence and courage.

The topic on June 9, 2019, was Faith: The Power that Moves Mountains. “For truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.” Thus spoke Jesus the Christ, who was a living example of his teachings. Within each one of us there also lives a mountain-mover, awaiting our command to remove any obstacles that stand in the way of our capacity for enlightened living.

Joyous Mother’s Day wishes to all of you who are a blessing in the lives of those you touch in your role as “mother,” whether it be your own child, as a foster or adoptive parent, grandparent, or mentor.

“The profound thought of all ages has stood in awe of Life itself,” writes Ernest Holmes, “realizing that there is a power and potentiality, the highest possibilities of which the human intellect cannot fathom.” As we explore this month’s theme—“Empowered Living”—we will tap directly into that power and potentiality.

The topic on May 12, 2019, was Empowerment: Your Personal Law of Life. In her book, Your Invisible Power, Genevieve Behrend wrote, “As you grow in understanding as to who you are…what the purpose of your being is, and how you are to fulfill the purpose for which you are intended, you will become a more and more perfect center through which the Creative Spirit of Life can enjoy itself.” No further words required!
