“This Thing Called Life” – January 15, 2017

At the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles, you will hear relevant messages, by Rev. Pam MacGregor, that you can apply to everyday life.

Intention is everything. Why? Because when intention brings us to the discovery of our own inner wholeness, all is well. We cultivate confidence in ourselves, in our practice of spiritual mind treatment and the empowerment of coming together as a spiritual community to support one another in our spiritual practices.

Intention is an Old English/French/Latin word intendre, which means “to stretch.” Spiritually applied, intention is to grow, develop, and unfold the Higher Self. So as together we enter the portal of the New Year, our theme of the month is, Intention: The Nuts and Bolts of the Teaching.

The topic on January 15, 2017, was “This Thing Called Life.” In Holmes’ classic work, This Thing Called Life, now entitled The Art of Life, he leads us on an exploration of the meaning and practice of faith, of unconditional trust that our Creator Source is on our side, unconditionally cheering us on. The faith he teaches is not blind; rather, it provides factual evidence through what we refer to as a “demonstration” or “manifestation.” This faith shows us the light at the end of the tunnel when all we can see is darkness. It reveals to us that we are accompanied by Spirit all the way.

“This Thing Called You” – January 8, 2017

The topic on January 8, 2017, was “This Thing Called You.” A new year is demonstrated only if you infuse it with a “new you.” Metaphorically, we can compare it to a hangover carried over from a New Year’s Eve celebration: If we drag our negative, worn out mindsets like self-condemnation, rancid guilt, sour disappointments, vile victimhood into the new year, that is what we are setting up ourselves to perpetuate. Let us instead carry affirmative intentions which will set the tone for demonstrating fulfilled expectations in the new year.

Swimming in the Sea of Abundance – October 23, 2016

At the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles, you will hear relevant messages, by Rev. Pam MacGregor, that you can apply to everyday life.

I’m reminded of that time many years ago when a dear friend invited me to attend my first Science of Mind service. It was at a critical juncture in my life, so the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Because my friend was willing to step out in such a compassionate yet bold way, I stand before you today sharing the universal truth principles that changed my life. And now I’m following her example by inviting you to consider introducing family and friends to our Center—not at all proselytizing, but in a spirit of sharing. In support of this, our theme of the month is, Share the Love, Share the Light, Share the Wealth.

The topic on October 23, 2016, was Swimming in the Sea of Abundance. We can often be like the fish swimming in the ocean that looks around and asks, “I can’t see the water! Where is the water?” We are immersed in a sea of abundance in both the seeming ordinary and the extraordinary aspects of our lives, but we lack the clarity of vision to see it. This week we will open our inner eye, our mindsets and heartsets in deep respect and appreciation of the wealth and riches that surround and interpenetrate us.

The topic on October 9, 2016, was What Does It Really Mean to Be Wealthy? – Part 1. The words “rich” and “wealthy” are not literally synonyms. No matter how rich our bank account may grow to be, we may remain inwardly destitute. It is the cultivation of our inner qualities that draws to us the outer demonstration of Spirit’s plenitude in life. This week we will explore our divine inheritance of wholeness, contentment, generosity, and joy, including its many expressions of riches.

The topic on October 2, 2016, was How Willing Are You to Receive? The nature of the Law of Abundance is to multiply that which we are open and receptive to receiving. “As we bring ourselves to a greater vision than our present concepts,” Dr. Holmes teaches, “we can induce a greater concept and thereby demonstrate more in our experience.” This begins with first being courageous enough to accept our worthiness. Then watch how the Law unfolds the rest!

Psalm 91: A Lifetime Guarantee that Can’t Be Beat! – June 26, 2016

At the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles, you will hear relevant messages, by Rev. Pam MacGregor, that you can apply to everyday life.

In his wisdom, Ernest Homes neutrally referred to the Bible as “The Grand Old Book,” saying this of it:

“We shall approach our study [of the Bible] with the idea in mind that we are working out a philosophy of life which deals with man’s relationship to Spirit. No attempt will be made to explain all the intricate sayings of the Bible, but rather to analyze those passages which have a direct meaning and significance in everyday living.” And that is precisely what we will be doing throughout the month of June when our theme will be, “The Wisdom of the Grand Old Book.”

The topic on June 26, 2016, was Psalm 91: A Lifetime Guarantee that Can’t Be Beat! When we live, move and have our being “in the place of the Most High,” we abide in the shadow of the Almighty and its protection. Protection from what? From the false beliefs in lack, limitation, fear, worry-the “pestilence” that invades our minds through popular media, and societal conditioning. Living from a consciousness of One Power, we are shielded, guarded and guided by its overarching Presence in our lives.

The topic on June 19, 2016, was Is the Soil of Your Consciousness Fertile Enough to Receive? Healthy soil is receptive to nurturing the seed that is sowed within it. Likewise, the soil we til in consciousness is of four types: roadside, which is hard and compact and therefore unreceptive; rocky, which lacks sufficient soil and depth for a seed to take root; thorny, which chokes the soil with thistles; and fertile, which welcomes the seeds, nourishes and multiplies them. How is your garden of consciousness growing?
