Where There Is Darkness and Sadness, Let Me Sow Light and Joy – April 29, 2018

Loving greetings and joyous Easter and Spring Equinox wishes to you and your dear ones. It’s interesting to note that Easter is metaphysically a time of a resurrection in consciousness, and the Spring Equinox is a time of renewal. Both inspire us to review our intentions and reset our course towards that which gladdens our hearts and serves our global family.

As I inwardly prayed for April’s theme to be revealed, St. Francis’s beautiful prayer came into my awareness along with these words: I Am Your Instrument. I invite you to join us each week as together we practice being Spirit’s instruments of blessing in our world.

The topic on April 29, 2018, was Where There Is Darkness and Sadness, Let Me Sow Light and Joy. How can we be instruments of light and joy? The truth is, we already are! All we have to do is discover and activate it within ourselves and watch how it illumines our path. This is what St. Francis realized and called forth from within himself. This week we will practice together and tap into our innate luminosity of Light and Joy and let it radiate out from us upon one another, and upon our world.

Today we will examine the attitudes, the mindsets and heartsets that nurture our faith, our trust in the Goodness of the Universe that mothers each and every one of us. We never stand alone. We are never abandoned because Spirit’s grace is our constant companion. Our work is to reach deeply within through our spiritual practices and touch this grace that energizes our faith.

Where There Is Injury, Let Me Sow Pardon – April 15, 2018

Loving greetings and joyous Easter and Spring Equinox wishes to you and your dear ones. It’s interesting to note that Easter is metaphysically a time of a resurrection in consciousness, and the Spring Equinox is a time of renewal. Both inspire us to review our intentions and reset our course towards that which gladdens our hearts and serves our global family.

The topic on April 15, 2018, was Where There Is Injury Let Me Sow Pardon. It is a natural response to seek relief for inner or outer injury, whether it’s our own or that of others. “Pardon,” as used by St. Francis, represents healing and recovery. We aren’t meant to deny or bypass the wounds of injury, but to tenderly hold them in prayer without shame or blame, all the while knowing they have come forth because it’s their time of healing, knowing all the while that we possess the innate capacity to skillfully work them in our spiritual practices.

Where There is Hatred, Let Me Sow Love – April 8, 2018

Loving greetings and joyous Easter and Spring Equinox wishes to you and your dear ones. It’s interesting to note that Easter is metaphysically a time of a resurrection in consciousness, and the Spring Equinox is a time of renewal. Both inspire us to review our intentions and reset our course towards that which gladdens our hearts and serves our global family.

The topic on April 8, 2018, was Where There Is Hatred, Let Me Sow Love. As Dr. Holmes tells us in the Science of Mind textbook, “Love is the grandest healing and drawing power on Earth. It is the very reason for our being.” Love is the very energy of our existence, for each of us has emerged out of Spirit’s Divine Love as St. Francis next prayed, “Where there is hatred let me sow love.” And this begins with us, with our relationship with ourselves, which informs our relationship with others and our world. Are you ready to embrace it all with Love?

Make Me an Instrument of Thy Peace – April 1, 2018

Loving greetings and joyous Easter and Spring Equinox wishes to you and your dear ones. Both inspire us to review our intentions and reset our course towards that which gladdens our hearts and serves our global family.

The topic on April 1, 2018, was Make Me an Instrument of Thy Peace. Jesus passionately preached about the peace that “passes all understanding.” St. Francis prayed, “Make me an instrument of thy peace,” and we can count many inspiring individuals in our times who followed in their footsteps, thus changing their own lives and the world around them. These individuals weren’t born saints—they are everyday people like you and me! This week we’ll explore how each of us may tap into our own reservoir of inner peace and spread it in our world.

The Divine Romance – March 25, 2018

Loving greetings and welcome to the month of the Spring Solstice, a time of renewal and rejoicing. And that’s just what we’ll experience each week as together we explore April’s theme, Love: The Only Miracle that There Is. When we look into our spiritual pharmacy for healing whatever ails us in any given circumstance, Love is the salve that remedies our inner and outer wounds.

May we stand together as a spiritual family and let the miracles begin!

The topic on March 18, 2018, was The Divine Romance. What biblical parable would you identify as one which, without exception, we can all relate to, one which Ernest Holmes describes as, “…one of the greatest spiritual lessons in the history of religious education”? Hint: This parable offers us absolute evidence of the unconditional love expressing in our soul’s divine romance with Spirit—just as we are in the very moment of reading these words.

Love’s Gift of Radical Forgiveness – March 18, 2018

Loving greetings and welcome to the month of the Spring Solstice, a time of renewal and rejoicing. And that’s just what we’ll experience each week as together we explore April’s theme, Love: The Only Miracle that There Is. When we look into our spiritual pharmacy for healing whatever ails us in any given circumstance, Love is the salve that remedies our inner and outer wounds.

May we stand together as a spiritual family and let the miracles begin!

The topic on March 11, 2018, was Love’s Gift of Radical Forgiveness. In his book—whose title I have appropriated for this Sunday’s talk—Colin Tipping writes, “Radical Forgiveness challenges us to fundamentally shift our perception of the world and our interpretation of what happens to us so we can stop being victims.” Need more be said? Well, for most of us yes, because in our culture we have perfected self-blame, shame, and guilt. Forgiveness begins with our own capacity to compassionately, lovingly forgive ourselves.

Loving and Accepting Your Imperfectly Perfect Self – March 11, 2018

Loving greetings and welcome to the month of the Spring Solstice, a time of renewal and rejoicing. And that’s just what we’ll experience each week as together we explore April’s theme, Love: The Only Miracle that There Is. When we look into our spiritual pharmacy for healing whatever ails us in any given circumstance, Love is the salve that remedies our inner and outer wounds.

May we stand together as a spiritual family and let the miracles begin!

The topic on March 11, 2018, was Loving and Accepting Your Imperfectly Perfect Self. In the wise words of Dr. Holmes, “At the spiritual level we are each perfect, but our individual use of Life and Law enables us to cover a perfect idea with an apparently imperfect cloak.” That our inner spiritual perfection doesn’t always reflect in our humanness provides evidence that we are spiritual beings having a human experience—and not the other way around!

The Freedom in Facing Fear, Eliminating Bias – March 4, 2018

Loving greetings and welcome to the month of the Spring Solstice, a time of renewal and rejoicing. And that’s just what we’ll experience each week as together we explore April’s theme, Love: The Only Miracle that There Is. When we look into our spiritual pharmacy for healing whatever ails us in any given circumstance, Love is the salve that remedies our inner and outer wounds.

May we stand together as a spiritual family and let the miracles begin!

The topic on March 4, 2018, was The Freedom in Facing Fear, Eliminating Bias. Two of the common forms of experiencing separation from our Creator Source and our Higher Self are fear and blame. The remedy is not denying these energies, but instead navigating them with spiritual skillfulness. The truth is, Spirit doesn’t abandon us in the midst of these feelings; it is we who abandon ourselves. This Sunday we will learn how to free ourselves from getting swept away by feelings we think we should not feel and instead gladden our hearts with self-love.

Living in the Paradox of Strong Yet Tender – February 25, 2018

Loving greetings and welcome to our monthly glimpse into February’s spiritual explorations and theme, The Path of the Brave Hearted.

The etymology of the word brave is from the late 15th century’s Middle French and means “valiant,” and from the Italian and Spanish “bravo.” Does that cause you, as it does me, to put your spiritual shoulders back, step out of your comfort zone-and perhaps the status quo-and be brave enough to see, accept, and love yourself just as you are? Then to take that same stance for our world family where justice, compassion, and the dignity of all beings is concerned? That, my friends, calls for a collective “Bravo!” May our valiant journey begin now!

The topic on February 25, 2018, was Living in the Paradox of Strong Yet Tender. “To make ‘true belonging’ a daily practice in our lives,” writes Brené Brown, “we’re going to need a strong back and a soft front in order to experience true belonging.” In other words, it takes both a strong spiritual backbone and an open, tender heart to stand in our integrity, in our inherent knowing of our interconnectedness to all beings. As we enter the last week of our monthly theme, we will learn the benefits of navigating the terrain of our passionately committed wild hearts.
