The Sabbath of Sabbaths – September 17, 2023

Loving greetings to you all. It is my heart’s prayer that during these times of local and international challenges we are facing that you, your loved ones, and all beings are well, safe, and knowingly held in Spirit’s unconditional Love and Presence.

Our theme of the month is “Unshakeable At-Onement,” which came to me as I contemplated how a consciousness of oneness with our global family generates compassionate action in our hearts. As well, this month the holiest days of the Jewish New Year–Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur–emphasize the renewing of one’s commitment to contribute to building a just and equitable world for all. May each of us be inspired to make our contribution.

The September 17, 2023 topic is The Sabbath of Sabbaths. On September 24 our Jewish brethren will be celebrating Yom Kippur, which the Bible describes as the “Sabbath of Sabbaths.” It is a day dedicated to introspection, forgiveness of one’s not-so-enlightened behaviors of the past year, and setting positive intentions for the year ahead. The good news is that we can set our inner compass in this direction every day! Are you ready?

Release and Renew – September 10, 2023

The September 10, 2023 topic is Release and Renew. During Rosh Hashana (the Jewish New Year) celebrated on September 15, we can collectively share in this day of renewal by joining with our Jewish brothers and sisters in setting what is called a “tashlich” (positive) intention for ourselves and our world. Today I invite you to join me in welcoming in the flow of peace, safety, joy, health and prosperity for all beings gracing our planet.

Vulnerability Means Availability – September 3, 2023

The September 3, 2023 topic is Vulnerability Means Availability. When our hearts are open, vulnerable, we are available to Spirit’s boundless blessings, to surrendering into intimate oneness with Spirit. We drop the false persona of ego, the portfolio presentation of ourselves to the world. Vulnerability will do that for us. Today we will learn the benefits of rather than being careful, to open to being care-filled for ourselves and others.

The August 27, 2023 topic is You: A Unique Expression of Spirit. That we are a unique expression of Spirit is not all that matters. What ultimately matters is our commitment, our longing to embody that Truth, to say “yes” to every moment of grace that recognizes within us an inner sense of the Divine, a felt sense of its Wholeness living, breathing, moving and having its Life within, as, and through us.

The August 20, 2023 topic is Daring to Trust. Trust is both a noun and a verb, and this week we will apply the verb, the action of trust to see through the veneer of our doubts, fears, insecurities. Trust allows us to experience directly the power of opening ourselves to living in the truth that we are never alone, that Spirit and its grace accompany us in each and every breath and step we take.

The August 13, 2023 topic is Faith: The Engine of a Mountain Mover. “For truly I say to you, if you have the faith of the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.” We all experience times when we feel we lack the faith to move even a mustard seed, let alone a mountain! And yet within us all is a mountain-mover. Are you ready to give it your command?

Our level of inner awareness and outer actions contribute to living a mindful, awake life grounded in the universal principles of Law and Love. Together, they form the causes that create the conditions that appear in our lives. When we consciously devote ourselves to our spiritual evolutionary progress, we learn what it means to be “a spiritual being having a human experience.”

In Jesus’s Parable of the Talents in Matthew 24:14:30, he does not mince words when saying, “To him who has, it shall be given and it shall increase to him; but he who has not, even that which he has, shall be taken away from him.” Is this a harsh teaching, or is it a compassionate instruction on how we may apply the Law of Attraction and open ourselves to its fulfillment?

The July 16, 2023 topic is The Power of Non-Resistance. We’re all familiar with the adage “what you resist persists.” Resisting challenges that appear in our lives causes additional suffering through our attempt to deny, bypass or affirm them away. Cultivating non-resistance is a form of spiritual maturity which creates an opening through which Spirit reveals the ways in which challenges expose aspects of ourselves we have yet to evolve.
