Prayer of St Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amen.

The Prayer of St Francis is a declaration of intent and faith. Each Sunday in March we will deepen into a meaning of one of the lines of this exquisite and transformational prayer and feel what it means to be God’s instrument.

Accepting Divine Ideas

I am a Divine being connected to a Divine spirit. I accept that I am the embodiment of a Divine Idea in the mind of God. The power of God’s expression is unlimited. Nothing can stop the action of God from forever unfolding and expressing through me. I am maintained and sustained by an Infinite Mind. This mind created me and guides me in right and perfect ways. Every experience is an opportunity for a larger expression of love, harmony and cooperation.

I accept that each God-given idea is in me now and working through me now. These ideas are spiritual ideas and are in control of my thoughts, feelings and actions. Each idea brings limitless possibilities with it. Every idea is expressed completely, on time and in right sequence. I make good use of every God-ordained idea. I affirm and accept that every Divine Idea prospers and blesses me and those around me. With gratitude, absolute trust and invincible faith, I declare this as the truth of my being, I let it be, and so it is!

Self-Worth

There is a power within me that guides me in a positive direction and provides limitless channels for my expression. I identify with One Mind and One Life, God, infinite good. This One Mind is never confused or divided. It is centered in clear thinking and bound by the unifying power of Divine love. As a unified being, anchored in love, I am awake, stable and at peace. The all-knowing power within me reveals to me all that I need to know at the moment I need to know it. It removes any false appearance of fear, dissolves discord of any nature and increases self-awareness, so that faith and trust are restored.

I am a gift of God and therefore of infinite worth. I gracefully move forward allowing the light of Truth to melt the clouds of doubt away, while fortifying my conviction of self-worth. I am not bound by the illusion of time or space. I live in the present moment and abide in the sacredness and integrity of my vision. My life is worthwhile and I live it wholeheartedly. I am an Infinite self and all the power of the infinite mind exists within my mind right here and right now! I accept this Truth and the power of it. I give thanks, let it be, and so it is!

Spiritual Riches

I am one with Spirit. I am all that it is and it is all that I am. It is an infinite intelligence that abides within me and lives through me intelligently. Its energy is divine and melts away anything that is unlike itself. It does not judge or compare. It is a gentle and firm authority that encourages, empowers and accepts others. Its light heals all wounds through self-love and self-acceptance. It begins and ends with me. There is no compromise, no separation, no resisting and no avoidance of Truth. I am the light of my soul and I choose to set myself free and honor who I am.

The heart of my spirit is deeply enriched by experiences that allow me to awaken to my own evolution. I am free from any limitation of the past and all negative infringement of past memories. I confidently express my fullest authentic self. I am rich in gifts and filled with blessings. I set myself free to be all of me. In gratitude, I release these words, knowing they are the law of my life, and so it is!
