A Christmas Letter From Ernest Holmes

Christmas is for remembrance. The love manifested through our gifts to each other typifies the offer of Life and the givingness of Spirit to Its creations. The hands of the eternal are outstretched through our hands, and the heart of the Infinite beats in the human breast. But the giver must give of himself, for, “the gift without the giver is bare.”
It is not, then, in lavish gifts that we find true giving, but in the sweet simplicity of remembrance, in the kindly thought, the tolerant mind and the gentle act. Love alone can give love, sympathy alone can sympathize and only goodness can really do or be good.
The one who gives for reward does not give at all; he seeks to bargain; to trade for spiritual gifts; hence, he senses a loss in his own giving and finds no completion through the act. But, he who gives “half his meat” to the hungry feels justified and is warmed by a real sense of comradeship. He has established an actual unity between himself and other offspring of Creation.
Great causes succeed when there is a giving of humanity to humanity. With the check must come the one who wrote it, his interest, his enthusiasm, his love. The check must be a symbol of his desire to impart of himself—then shall it multiply its benefits and do good. Charity is cold—but love is warm. When heart speaks to heart a divine conversation has taken place, a heavenly discourse.
Each of us has something to give. Let each see that he gives of his best. If we are bringing our gifts to the alter of love, nothing less than the best will be acceptable; nothing less than all is enough.
May the real spirit of Christmas—the giving of the self to life, enter and abide in you now and through all times.

                                                Sincerely,
                                             Ernest Holmes

Merry Christmas my Dear Ones!! Take these sweet and sacred words with you as you celebrate and share all the gifts that are within you!

My Right and True Place

I am one with God. This beloved and divine energy guides and directs me so that I am always in my right and true place. I release any thoughts of displacement and know that the kingdom of heaven is within me at all times. It has imbued me with its grace.

At anytime, I can retreat to the secret place of the most high and neutralize anything that is in opposition to the truth of my being. I experience all that is good, beautiful, harmonious, abundant and fulfilling. I am part of an unfolding divine pattern that is uniquely me. Each individual has a perfect place, which only they can fill.

Divine order is always sustained. I am always in sync with the creative flow of the universe and deeply aware of the divinity in all beings and things. We are all children of God in this place at this time. There are no mistakes in God-mind. Everything and everyone is a light-filled channel of love designed for right and perfect expression.

Everything functions in perfect divine harmony. Nothing is missing in God’s perfect plan for my total fulfillment. I am God in action. I joyously live each moment in my right and true place. I give thanks for knowing this, for believing and accepting that it is so, and so it is!

The Gift of Self

I am one with the one presence, the one power and the one mind. I am a God-centered, all-sufficient self. I am the consciousness of that which God is. I have been given the gift of a Divine Self, which is sustained in peace and harmony. I allow this gift to be brought out into the light of awareness. I am a unique being, expressing the gifts of the spirit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control. I fully and freely give love.

I realize that God’s infinite intelligence is guiding my way to great blessings. I am surrounded with happiness and abundance.

In wondrous ways that I know not of, the almighty makes all things possible and has provided me with adequate abilities, fruitful ideas and answers to every question. The continuous action of Spirit maintains its inspiration in me and expresses through me as wisdom and intelligence. I release this to the great law of mind, knowing that the demonstration is complete. I give thanks and so it is!

Inner Peace is a Priority

I am at one with the power and presence of God. I have made a solid connection to the truth that God is all there is. This recognition is my path to peace. Peace is a power within me that is never disturbed or moved by the outer world of effects. Having peace as a spiritual priority brings balance and wholeness to my life. When I am content and peaceful, my mind is free, open and I feel at one with all life.

To become a peacemaker I must first make peace with myself. Being true to myself is peace in its purity. There is no struggle or effort to find peace or attain peace. I achieve peace of mind by having a deliberate intention to make peace a priority. I consistently choose serenity, knowing that peace of mind begins with a quiet mind and a tranquil heart.

I draw upon the great power of Infinite mind that grounds me in truth so that I may rise above any appearance of confusion or conflict. The spirit that dwells within me is divine, adequate, whole and complete. I meet every experience with a full and complete consciousness that is deliberately centered in peace.

I am grateful for the peace that lives within, always expressing as perfect love, harmony and freedom. I calmly accept this word as law, I let it go and let it be, and so it is!

Happy Thanksgiving

I realize that God is the power within me and the power that expresses through me. I am thankful that the spirit within me is adequate, complete and perfect. This divine energy places me in a positive and receptive state of mind. Gratitude attracts good to me and opens the right channels for my good to express.

Every opportunity is an opportunity to grow and be grateful for another life enriching experience. My awareness and understanding, wisdom and perception are enhanced by appreciation. I am grateful for being alive now and for knowing that I am one with all life.

I am thankful for this wonderful life that only knows to further the expression of beauty, joy, peace, harmony, love and abundance. I am part of, and surrounded by, its life affirming creativity that gives me the power to choose how I respond to my experiences.

I am eternally grateful that I live in a world of infinite abundance, peace and harmony. I accept this as my divine inheritance. With a grateful heart, I let this be, and so it is!!

In the winter of 2006 to 2007 I thought I had my whole life planned out. I took a job with a big corporation because I had the plans and intentions of marrying a woman who I convinced myself was the one. I was living in fear- everyone else around me was settling down, buying a house and starting families. I knew this person, probably wasn’t the right one, the job I took wasn’t the right one, and I was living way beyond my means.

I saw the Secret in November of 2006 and started attending different SOM churches and nothing seemed to feel right.
On Valentines day in 2007 not only did my relationship end with the person I was going to marry but so did the job I had.

I prayed for guidance. I wanted to make some life changes and pursue my passion which included Acting and Producing. I sold my house in Culver City and moved back to Hollywood where I used to live. After being there for two weeks, I found the HCRS online- and went the following Sunday. I was welcomed and embraced. I went from the consciousness of I’m trying to be an actor- to “I’m a working actor living the life of a working actor day in and day out.”

I took a class called the Science of Successful Living. In that class I took down my guard and learned to be authentic. I started dealing with a lot of situations that were left undone. I didn’t ask for them, they just showed up– and having a prayer partner in class really helped me. It gave me the opportunity to help someone, and at the same time, get help for what was going on in my life. My life was starting to make a huge shift and I was loving the change.

I treated and meditated daily, which brought some great things into my life. I worked on several films, developed relationships with key people who helped me get my first film produced. I had a lot of success’s, as well as challenges.

It has been a very long five years and sometimes I say to myself, how did I get through it? Well, it all started with faith, as small as a mustard seed. I couldn’t have done it, without the support of the ministerial team and the members and friends of the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles….formerly the Hollywood Church of Religious Science.

I want to personally thank the following people for their friendship and support that helped get me through some rough times: Dean Mitchell, Riley Weston, James Millican, Rev. Pam, Rev. Melody, Rev. Jill, Karen Tarleton-Holland & Ken Hergenroeder.

I proudly sign this letter with my name and stamp.

David Fletcher.

Thank You

I am rich with ideas that prosper my life abundantly. These ideas were implanted within my soul from on high. I now accept them and act upon them appropriately with confidence and deliberate intention.

In anyway I can, I serve the world. I offer my special uniqueness as God’s representative. I have found my true place in life by surrendering all my concerns to Divine Mind. If there should be a moment when I need to be reminded of whose I am, I redirect my thinking and open my heart to the Divine Presence of God… “Closer than breathing, nearer than hands and feet, I am.” I am in conscious cooperation with the power that is back of, in and through all people and things.

Within me is a creative force and a power of love. It is so close, so intimate, so securely based, that it melts any fears I may have.

I am grateful for the love that I am eternally blessed with, for the peace that consistently calms me, for the absolute and invincible faith that sustains me, for a mighty power that unconditionally understands and accepts me and for the magical wisdom that ever so gently continues to move me forward with grace and ease.

Thank you God for this precious moment of divine cooperation and thank you for the privilege of being your treasured gift–for once again, I am free. Thank you for giving me wings!

I Am God-Centered

I am God-Centered and at one with all God is. I am surrounded by one power and that is a power for good. In, through and around me, is the all-knowing intelligence of creative mind expressing its divinity. In wondrous and inspiring ways, I am the totality of pure potential, operating as a positive expression of God.

Any sense of doubt or fear is impossible because I am centered in peace and harmony, which expands into everything I do. I depend on Principle and not on outer effects. I am assured of right results by doing the right thing.

Peace at the center keeps me happy, loving and kind. I welcome opportunities that bring about healthy, constructive and cooperative experiences for everyone involved. I salute the divinity in others, as we are each expressions of God. This divine presence is life affirming with a power for good that I accept now.

I give thanks for this Truth, I let it be and so it is!!

Self-Reconciliation

I am one with Divine Mind. I am an individualized expression of God Mind. I am fully conscious of the limitless capacity of this Infinite Mind as me. It accepts me as I am because it created me as I am. To express the magnificence of God, I must be authentic and whole in my expression. God Mind is not a judging mind; it is an all-loving mind, encouraging freedom, truth and harmony.

Self-love is embracing all aspects of myself– the good, the bad, the awful and the awesome. Non-resistance allows me to be all that I am without labels. The day turns into darkness eventually and I am able to love them both. I release the desire or need to judge myself or anything or anyone else. Love does not judge, it is a unifying power that brings understanding and harmony to every situation.

I am a creative being with many thoughts and many feelings. I see them all as aspects of the Divine, guiding me to my deepest and highest wisdom self. It is here where I make peace with wholeness, restore emotional harmony and reconcile all of who I am. I am grateful for this Truth and for the positive expression it inspires and fulfills. In gratitude, I let go and let God, and so it is!

The Optimist’s Creed by Christian D. Larson

Many of you asked me for a copy of this from Sunday’s Talk… ask and you shall receive!

Promise Yourself…
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature you meet.
To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds.
To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.
