Growing Holy Relationships, Part I – October 1, 2017

At the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles, you will hear relevant messages, by Rev. Pam MacGregor, that you can apply to everyday life.

Loving greetings and welcome to one of my favorite months of the year and it’s theme, Share the Love, Share the Light, Share the Wealth. It’s Friendship Month, and what a joy it is to gather with a community of spiritual friends who inspire, encourage and support one another on the path. The Buddha considered the sangha—the Sanskrit word for spiritual community—to be one of the Three Jewels of spiritual practice. How blessed we are to gather together each week to pray, learn, and celebrate. May this blessing fill your hearts as deeply as it does my own.

The topic on October 1, 2017, was Growing Holy Relationships, Part I. “There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship.” These heart-touching words from St. Thomas Aquinas remind us not to take for granted those in our lives whom we are blessed to call “friend.” They also invite us to review the quality and depth of unconditional friendship we offer others. Listen to this Talk as we unpack the treasure trove of friendship—soul-to-soul.

The Fourth Secret of Answered Prayer – September 24, 2017

At the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles, you will hear relevant messages, by Rev. Pam MacGregor, that you can apply to everyday life.

I’m quite sure that, like myself, you’ve directed an abundance of prayerful energy into Laws governing the universe! This month I’ve had some extra assistance from a book I read—The Prayer Chest, a novel co-authored by New Thought ministers August Gold and Joel Fotinos. I became inspired to base this month’s theme—The Secrets of Answered Prayer—upon their book, because I found it so supportive in deepening my prayer practice.

Now of course those of us who have read the Science of Mind textbook by Dr. Ernest Holmes are familiar with the principles underlying spiritual mind treatment, and sometimes we may lose sight of some of the subtleties involved in answered prayer. So I offer you this month’s weekly topics as a means of rejuvenating and accelerating our spiritual practice of scientific, affirmative prayer.

The topic on September 24, 2017, was The Fourth Secret of Answered Prayer. Interestingly, The Prayer Chest authors leave the fourth secret wide open to the vast ocean of possibilities. What arose in my own consciousness is the clue offered in the fifth step of Spiritual Mind Treatment: Release. Specifically, releasing our attachment to the outcome of our prayer, including the “how” and “when” of it. Once again, I remind us of the words of Ernest Holmes, “Pray right and God cannot help responding.”

The Third Secret of Answered Prayer – September 17, 2017

So I offer you this month’s weekly topics as a means of rejuvenating and accelerating our spiritual practice of scientific, affirmative prayer.

The topic on September 17, 2017, was The Third Secret of Answered Prayer. The third secret is about surrendering and placing ourselves in a trusting mindset so that answered prayer can manifest in, as, and through us. The reason this involves increasing our trust factor is because we keep looking for outer signs according to our own understanding of what they should look like, rather than Spirit’s transformative process of refining our consciousness for the outer manifestation of answered prayer.

The topic on September 10, 2017, was The Second Secret of Answered Prayer. Once again Dr. Holmes tells us, “Our whole theory is based not only on the belief in Spirit, but in the availability of It—Its immediate response.” So now we have the second clue, that because of our limitless access to Spirit, we can be assured It listens, hears, and responds. Therefore, how will we eliminate mind-static so that we may deeply listen, hear and respond to the inner guidance coming directly from Spirit’s treasure chest.

Authentic Forgiveness Includes Forgetness – August 20, 2017

At the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles, you will hear relevant messages, by Rev. Pam MacGregor, that you can apply to everyday life.

Loving greetings and welcome to our last month of Summer. My prayer is that it has been a season of inner growth, contentment, and sweet times for you. We will continue to excavate the deepest contours of our hearts and spirits throughout August’s theme Stretching the Heart, Opening the Mind.

The topic on August 20, 2017, was Authentic Forgiveness Includes Forgetness. “Forgiveness is the economy of the heart…forgiveness saves the expense of anger, the cost of hatred, the waste of spirits,” said Hannah More. And doing so just might require the 70 x 7 effort Jesus speaks of in Matthew 18:22. Our relationship with forgiveness can be quite complex, and until we add the element of “forgetness” it may be incomplete. So let’s take a look with an intention to forgive and forget with authenticity of heart.

Applying The Power of Non-Resistance – August 13, 2017

At the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles, you will hear relevant messages, by Rev. Pam MacGregor, that you can apply to everyday life.

Loving greetings and welcome to our last month of Summer. My prayer is that it has been a season of inner growth, contentment, and sweet times for you. We will continue to excavate the deepest contours of our hearts and spirits throughout August’s theme Stretching the Heart, Opening the Mind.

The topic on August 13, 2017, was Applying The Power of Non-Resistance. Our inclination to resist anything that we don’t want in our lives can be shortsighted. There are many aspects of being human that show up to shake and wake us, but if we deny or bypass them, we miss not only their gifts, but also our capacity to wisely, skillfully work with challenges. Is there a benefit to not “fighting” a disease and changing our attitude, our view towards it? That’s what we explore in this Talk.

The Secret of Prosperous Living, Part II – July 30, 2017

At the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles, you will hear relevant messages, by Rev. Pam MacGregor, that you can apply to everyday life.

Loving greetings and welcome to the month of July wherein we celebrate freedom and independence. Certainly we can all relate to the outer definition of these words, but what about their more profound meanings in terms of our awareness of ourselves as individualized expressions of Spirit, free as Spirit is free, awake as Spirit is awake? To support us in our individual answer to this question, our theme of the month is Our Inheritance of Independence.

The topic on July 30, 2017, was The Secret of Prosperous Living, Part II. A prosperous heart is the result of living from Spirit’s overflow of love into our life. When we feel its irreplaceable nourishment, we know a wealth beyond comparison. Learning about the lives of the greatest lovers of humankind, we see that they were awake in the awareness of Spirit as the Source of life’s inherent goodness. We all measure prosperity in a way unique to ourselves, but the common denominator is Love, and love births generosity of the heart.

The Secret of Prosperous Living, Part I – July 23, 2017

At the Science of Mind Spiritual Center Los Angeles, you will hear relevant messages, by Rev. Pam MacGregor, that you can apply to everyday life.

Loving greetings and welcome to the month of July wherein we celebrate freedom and independence. Certainly we can all relate to the outer definition of these words, but what about their more profound meanings in terms of our awareness of ourselves as individualized expressions of Spirit, free as Spirit is free, awake as Spirit is awake? To support us in our individual answer to this question, our theme of the month is Our Inheritance of Independence.

The topic on July 23, 2017, was The Secret of Prosperous Living, Part I. Most often we relate to prosperity as equaling the sum total of our net worth, our outer material riches. But doesn’t that seem to be a limited view? For example, if we were to total our inner wealth, it would include many other aspects—the wealth of love in our lives, health, creativity, generosity, compassion. It just might be that the secret of prosperous living begins with growing our inner wealth, which prepares us for outer riches.
